This Turtle is carrying a load of dark potch (colourless Opal) on it's back! I believe that if that dark area just in the middle were to be carefully ground down, there would be more colours showing up as there is a colour bar underneath.
The best result would be if that center area were left highly polished, without any turtle shell patterns being carved into the area. The outer areas that wouldn't be touched, could be left with their carved pattern intact.
