In order to appreciate the CRYSTAL nature of the Opal, photos have been taken with different backgrounds.
This type of Opal is quite often mounted against a black background like oxidized Silver or painted metal and sometimes the Opal itself is painted on the back with a black waterproof pen to enhance the color.
We do not import, promote or sell Synthetic or Man Made Opal, nor any non-Australian mined Opal.
On 27 July, 1993, The Australian Government proclaimed Opal as the National Gemstone of Australia!
