In the 1960's onward, it was quite popular to buy a metal container in which a cheap throw away plastic cigarette lighter could be inserted, thereby creating the appearance of a REAL metal cigarette lighter.
This was likewise done with ladies' lipsticks which could be inserted into an elegant dispenser which often included Diamond imitations, Marcasites and Gemstones.
This item is one component of such a lipstick dispenser and was stamped out of a S/S metal sheet and is therefore smooth and strong with no soldering and no joints.
They are easily cleaned with a silver cloth and/or polished.
