Gold Plated Brooch set with Rhinestones surrounding one huge 25 x 18 mm Oval Cut Opal Triplet.
Opal Triplets as large as this is very hard to find. You are not likely to find these anywhere today! They were made about 30 years ago and they, along with a number of other items, were stored away when the manufacturing seized. Please Note: Opal is all about colours and patterns and how the colours and patterns change when the Opal is moved around, and light is Opal's "lifeblood". Opal will look different when viewed in different type of lights and, when taking photos of Opal, the colour and type of background will affect the appearance of the Opal, as well. In addition, digital cameras used to take the photos will not produce the exact same colours or shades of colours as in the actual stone. Finally, an Opal will look different from one screen to another depending on the screens settings, but never exactly the same as the Opal itself. Not only is Opal recognized as the most complex and difficult of Gemstones to value, as many other factors apart from colours and patterns have to be considered, but it is also the most difficult to photograph. In fact, EVERY Opal is different, just like our finger prints! We do not import, promote or sell Synthetic or Man Made Opal, nor any non-Australian mined Opal. On 27 July, 1993, The Australian Government proclaimed Opal as the National Gemstone of Australia!
