53965.0 - Round Cut Australian Blue-Black Sapphires for sale Mostly Very Deep Blue and Blackish when Set in Jewellery Mostly Step Cut

These Australian Sapphires were hand cut decades ago and are not precision cut.

The style of cutting is mixed, but mostly step cut.

A few stones may be suitable for re-cutting into diamond cut.

IMPORTANT: depending on the overhead lighting, the camera may somewhat enhance the colur as the light reflects from the white paper.

When set, most of them will appear as blackish or very deep blue stones.

All stones are, nevertheless, Blue Sapphires and any jewellery made with these stones can be described as set with Blue Sapphires, Deep Blue Sapphires, Blackish Blue Sapphires or similar description.

These are NOT Black Sapphire, which is Sapphire (Corundum) that is completely opaque and won't allow any light to penetrate and be seen, if the stone is held up to a light source, like the sun or a light bulb.

Black Sapphires are less expensive than these stones and can't be marketed as Blue Sapphires.
