Mother Nature is never perfect, even gemstones that are certified as "clean" are not, it's just a matter of using stronger microscope until the imperfection becomes visible.

With these particular pieces, there is certainly no need for a microscope to see the imperfections of her work, but rather than filling up holes and cover her imperfections (and gain a few dollars more for a "perfect" stone), I decided to leave these stones just as Mother Nature had created them.

It's a bit like; one may look at and admire an absolute perfectly shaped tree, but it is that imperfectly shaped tree with twisted, bent or unusual branches that is so fascinating that it makes one want to take a photo.
(Whilst on trees and personally; a perfectly shaped artificial Christmas tree can never be a substitute for even the most imperfectly shaped natural tree...)

Boulder Opal just has to be one of the most intriguing one out of all Gemstones. And, every single Opal has it's own character, as is perfectly demonstrated with these stones. In fact, the chances of finding another set quite like this set is highly unlikely; it is from the 1970's!
