Note about Opal:
COLOURS; There are a number of factors in Opal which determines its appeal and value, but colours is one critical factor and, as LIGHT is the "lifeblood" to Opal, the type and strength of the light used when viewing or taking photos of Opal, can have a considerable impact on the Opal's appearance.
TO REALLY APPRECIATE THE DEGREE TO WHICH OPAL IS AFFECTED BY LIGHT... PLEASE LOOK AT THE VIDEO... EVERY 5 SECONDS THE LIGHT CHANGE BETWEEN 3 DIFFERENT TYPES OF LIGHT; DAYLIGHT, FLUORESCENT AND INCANDESCENT.
PHOTOS; By the time a photo is taken, displayed on your screen (set to whatever colour brightness etc. prefered by you), magnified many times beyond it's actual size etc., the colours are invariable not quite the same as when holding the stone in one's hand and looking at it in daylight.
CARE; Opal Triplets do not like ultrasonic cleaners, heat and solvents like Acetone; they can affect the glue that holds together the three parts that a triplet is made up from.
We do not import, promote or sell Synthetic or Man Made Opal, nor any non-Australian mined Opal.
On 27 July, 1993, The Australian Government proclaimed Opal as the National Gemstone of Australia!
